Summary

Paulo Coelho's masterpiece tells the mystical story of Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure。 His quest will lead him to riches far different—and far more satisfying—than he ever imagined。 Santiago's journey teaches us about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, of recognizing opportunity and learning to read the omens strewn along life's path, and, most importantly, to follow our dreams。

This book was absolutely amazing!!!! This book even though is fiction really teaches us about life and love and how all of us should live our lives and how we should find our purpose

Shocked me at first to see how mixed it is, I suppose I can understand that though。 Very simple but very good in my opinion, a philosophy book disguised behind an adventure story。 All the people so pressed about the “danger” of the theme of this book should chill, it’s meant to be taken at its simplest form, follow your heart。

An all-time favorite book! I always can read this whenever I need a reminder about my journey。 A quick simple read as well!!! Everything just makes sense when I read this book and I would definitely recommend this to everyone! I believe there’s something in this book that every single person in this world can relate to that makes this book amazing!!!

I didn’t like this book at first。 It was a little slow and boring and the message wasn’t clear。 As I read on, I understood that the slowness and the uncertainty was to mirror the story of the boy。 Like the story of the boy, it all became much more clear at the end。 This is a wholesome book with great lessons。

not worth the 15 cents it cost me

Entire story is beautiful, and I love the interactions of the boy and new characters he meets along the way。 This truly is a story about the journey, not the destination。

Paula is an incredible writer because he talks about such complicated and intricate things in a way which is accessible to everyone。 Even though his language is simplistic his message is so very impactful。As someone who is largely spiritual and believes in destiny, fate and omens I enjoyed this book so much。 However I am not really religious so I felt I couldn’t connect with the book as much as someone who is。 It is a beautiful book about finding you destiny and how the universe helps you to do Paula is an incredible writer because he talks about such complicated and intricate things in a way which is accessible to everyone。 Even though his language is simplistic his message is so very impactful。As someone who is largely spiritual and believes in destiny, fate and omens I enjoyed this book so much。 However I am not really religious so I felt I couldn’t connect with the book as much as someone who is。 It is a beautiful book about finding you destiny and how the universe helps you to do so。 I really found it very comforting and I think that if you are in a hard place in your life and need to be reassured that you will find your way then this is a perfect book to read! 。。。more

This is the first physical book I've picked up in a while as I'm on holiday and had the time to sit, relax, and absorb it。What a wonderful book。It is nurturing for the soul and challenges the way you see the world and everything in it。It's not very long, but it takes you on a journey, one filled with adventure, curiosity, and resilience。 This is the first physical book I've picked up in a while as I'm on holiday and had the time to sit, relax, and absorb it。What a wonderful book。It is nurturing for the soul and challenges the way you see the world and everything in it。It's not very long, but it takes you on a journey, one filled with adventure, curiosity, and resilience。 。。。more

Great read that I would recommend to anyone, especially those who are still unsure about their future, where they want to be, or just starting with their journey into "adulthood"。 Great read that I would recommend to anyone, especially those who are still unsure about their future, where they want to be, or just starting with their journey into "adulthood"。 。。。more

Not bad for a classic!!! The story was entertaining with plain language and not the least bit difficult to follow。 I really liked the author's style of kinda switching POVs to make the reader less confused。Though I probably wouldn't find myself going back to this book over and over, it's a book I would buy the hardcover of, if that makes sense。 It's really, really good。 Would recommend! Although not a religious person, I do believe in some sort of unity of life that if harnessed properly will make all forms of life do better。 This book had a very positive message, even。 if at times naively so and through obvious ex machina。 But it's still an entertaining uplifting story if you give it a chance。 With some nice twists at the end that make you think about all the gifts he got along the way。 Although not a religious person, I do believe in some sort of unity of life that if harnessed properly will make all forms of life do better。 This book had a very positive message, even。 if at times naively so and through obvious ex machina。 But it's still an entertaining uplifting story if you give it a chance。 With some nice twists at the end that make you think about all the gifts he got along the way。 。。。more

It's worth a read and reflection! The writing style is fairly simple yet profoundly impactful。 I found myself taking notes and rereading sentences because there are many life lessons and questions that this story prompts you to ask yourself。 It's worth a read and reflection! Meh。 I may have liked this better if I had read it when I was younger, still searching and discontented with my life, and less cynical about there being universal truths and easy answers to the meaning of life。

I read this book because everyone has read this book and I wanted to say I had also read this book which is admittedly a very bad reason to read a book。
